NSCDC GOMBE STATE COMMAND HOSTS 3-DAY TRAINING FOR NON-LAWYER PROSECUTORS AND INVESTIGATORS

The Gombe State Command, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has commenced a 3-day capacity development training for non-lawyer prosecutors and investigators. The training, which began on August 19, 2025, at the Command’s State Headquarters, aims to enhance the skills and knowledge of participants in the administration of justice.
The event was graced by the presence of distinguished guests, including the Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, Gombe State, Barrister Zubairu Umar Mohammed , who was ably represented by Barrister Musa Saidu, Director of Civil Litigation. Other notable attendees included Barrister Abubakar Jungudo, Director of Public Prosecution (DPP), and other renowned legal experts from the Ministry.
In his remarks, the Attorney General, represented by Barrister Musa Saidu, lauded the effort of the NSCDC Gombe State Command for collaborating with the Ministry to train its personnel. He emphasized that this synergy would significantly enhance the administration of justice in the state, leading to improved security and a more efficient justice system. The Attorney General’s representative noted that the training would provide participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively discharge their duties.
In her welcome address,
Assistant Commandant of Corps (ACC) Jemima A. Jagafa, Head of the Legal Unit, extended a warm welcome to the Attorney General, represented by Barrister Musa Saidu, and the Ministry’s esteemed resource persons. She highlighted the significance of the training in upholding the rule of law and ensuring that justice is served in the state. ACC Jagafa noted that the training would provide a platform for participants to share experiences, learn from each other, and acquire new skills.
Delivering his speech, Commandant Jibrin Idris, State Commandant of the NSCDC Gombe State Command, commended the Ministry of Justice for the capacity-building training, describing it as a clear demonstration of the Ministry’s commitment to ensuring that justice in the state is anchored on professionalism, integrity, and efficiency. He reaffirmed the NSCDC’s commitment to partnering with the Ministry and stakeholders in the justice sector to uphold the rule of law, protect human rights, and secure communities.
Commandant Idris, expressed gratitude to the Attorney General and his team for the important training, believing that its outcome would lead to stronger institutions, more effective justice delivery, and a safer state. He emphasized that the NSCDC Gombe State Command would continue to work closely with the Ministry of Justice and other stakeholders to ensure that justice is served and the rule of law is upheld.
The 3-day training is expected to equip participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively discharge their duties as prosecutors and investigators. The training is a testament to the commitment of the NSCDC Gombe State Command and the Ministry of Justice to upholding the rule of law and dispensation of justice in the State.
