NSCDC, Oyo State Command, Deploys 600 Personnel for Ibadan North Federal Constituency By-Election

The State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Oyo State Command, has deployed 600 personnel for the upcoming by-election in the Ibadan North Federal Constituency. This deployment was announced during the August Edition of the Monthly Commandant’s Briefing, held on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at the NSCDC Conference Hall, Area “A” Command Headquarters, Railway Quarters, Iyaganku, Ibadan.

The briefing, which included top brass officials such as Heads of Departments, Heads of Units, Area Commanders, Sectional Heads, Unit Commanders, and Divisional Officers, saw the State Commandant outline the NSCDC’s preparedness and commitment to ensuring a peaceful and secure electoral process.

Speaking during his briefing, the State Commandant emphasized that NSCDC will collaborate closely with the Nigerian Police Force and other security agencies in Oyo State to ensure comprehensive security across the state during the election. He reaffirmed that the Corps will work hand in hand with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to uphold the integrity of the election and guarantee a credible, free, and fair voting process.

“As part of our efforts, we will ensure the protection of lives and properties, as well as the safeguarding of critical national assets and infrastructure. We are fully committed to ensuring that the election process is peaceful, secure, and devoid of any disruptions,” said the State Commandant.

The Commandant also assured the public that the personnel deployed for the election will conduct themselves with the highest level of professionalism and integrity while discharging their duties.

He further warned any individuals intending to disrupt the election process that there will be zero tolerance for such actions. “We will not hesitate to resist any attempts to cause violence or disorder during this election. Our personnel will be on high alert, ensuring the safety of all citizens and the protection of democratic rights,” he stressed.

The State Commandant also took the opportunity to encourage all eligible voters in the Ibadan North Federal Constituency to come out and exercise their franchise, stressing that their participation is crucial in sustaining democracy.

NSCDC, Oyo State Command, remains committed to ensuring the security and safety of all citizens and will continue to uphold its role in protecting critical national assets and ensuring a peaceful, secure environment during elections.
