Jigawa NSCDC Commandant Bala Bodinga Commissions New Divisional Office in Takur Site, Dutse

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Jigawa State Command, has recorded another milestone in its quest to strengthen grassroots security infrastructure with the commissioning of a newly constructed Divisional Office in Takur Site, Dutse Local Government Area.

The commissioning ceremony, which took place on Saturday, was led by the State Commandant of the Corps, Commandant Bala Bawa Bodinga, who expressed satisfaction with the quality and timely completion of the project. The office building, a strategic addition to the Corps’ presence in Dutse, was constructed and donated by Engineer Surajo Sabo Babura, a security enthusiast and community supporter.

In his address during the ceremony, Commandant Bodinga described the project as “a major step forward in bringing security services closer to the people,” while commending the collaborative spirit that made the project possible.

“This office will serve as a functional hub for the NSCDC in Takur Site, enabling quicker response to emergencies, improved intelligence gathering, and deeper community engagement,” Bodinga stated.

He emphasized that the establishment of the divisional office aligns with the Command’s broader objective of expanding operational reach, enhancing visibility, and fostering closer collaboration with communities across the state.

Commandant Bodinga used the opportunity to appreciate Engineer Surajo Sabo Babura, for his dedication, transparency, and commitment to contributing to security development in Dutse. He further urged other stakeholders and well-meaning individuals to emulate the gesture by supporting initiatives aimed at bolstering security architecture in their localities.

In his remarks, Engineer Surajo Sabo Babura, said the project was borne out of a strong desire to give back to society and support the security agencies in their fight against criminality. He praised the leadership of Commandant Bodinga for what he described as “a transformative and proactive approach to security administration” in Jigawa State.

“I believe that security is a shared responsibility. This building is my modest contribution to the peace and safety of our people, and I hope it motivates others to do the same,” Engineer Babura remarked.

The well-attended event drew traditional leaders, local government officials, NSCDC officers, youth representatives, and members of the community, who lauded the Corps’ efforts in enhancing security presence and improving public confidence in the state.

With the commissioning of the Takur Site Divisional Office, the NSCDC Jigawa Command under Commandant Bala Bodinga continues to set the pace in community-rooted security service delivery and infrastructure development.
