Ishaku Musa, Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Plateau State, has advised youths to concentrate and channel their time and energy into productive activities that could help shape their future towards a desired fruition.
Commandant Musa gave this advice last week when he received a group of youths in his office. He admonished them that criminality and unethical conduct will never guarantee them anything positive, now or in the near future.
Musa said: “Let me emphasise to you that there is no shortcut to success in life. The only way to a good life is through hard work and focusing on activities that can enhance your future. For those of you still in school, make sure you concentrate on your studies. And for those who have graduated, ensure that you engage in productive ventures that can solidify your future and lead to a better life.”
He continued: “The truth of the matter is that we cannot afford to see you misbehaving, because the future belongs to you. Whether we like it or not, you are bound to take over leadership positions after us. If this is indeed the gospel truth, then we must ensure that you are guided rightly for a better tomorrow.”
On the part of the NSCDC, he noted: “We have always ensured our support for the youth at all times. And I must confess, to a reasonable extent, we have not been disappointed in their conduct. However, we still want them to improve and remain consistent in their good behaviour at all times.”
