The State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Comdt. Maku Olatunde, on Wednesday 26 June 2024 participated in a high-level meeting with other Service Commanders at the Nigeria Police Force Headquarters in Awka, Anambra State.
The meeting, convened to discuss the current security situation in Anambra State, brought together heads of security agencies in the state, including Nigerian Army, Nigerian Navy, Department of State Services (DSS) and others.
The Service Commanders reviewed the security landscape in the state and strategized on effective ways to address emerging threats and challenges. They also discussed collaborative efforts to protect critical national assets and infrastructure, intelligence sharing, and swift response to security breaches.
The service Commanders received HRH Igwe Nnaemeka Achebe , the Chairman, Anambra State Traditional Council as part of the strategy for all inclusive security engagements of relevant stakeholders.
Comdt. Maku reiterated the NSCDC’s commitment to synergizing with other security agencies to ensure the safety and security of lives and properties in Anambra State. He emphasized the need for collective efforts to tackle the security challenges facing the state.
The meeting resolved to enhance surveillance, patrols, and community engagement to prevent breakdown of law and order. The Service Commanders also agreed to foster closer collaboration and timely sharing of intelligence to address security threats.
Recall that NSCDC Anambra State Command hosted the last service Commanders meeting on Wednesday 5 June 2024 , the first of its kind to be held outside the NPF office courtesy of the pragmatic leadership of Commandant Maku Olatunde.
