NSCDC ANAMBRA STATE COMMANDANT CONDUCTS UNSCHEDULED VISIT TO NYSC ORIENTATION CAMP, ASSURES CORPS MEMBERS AND OFFICIALS OF ADEQUATE SECURITY

On Thursday, 27th June 2024, the Anambra State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Comdt. Maku Olatunde, paid an unscheduled visit to the ongoing 2024 Batch B Stream one Orientation Camp at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Umuawulu/Mbaukwu, Awka South LGA.

The visit aimed to assess the security situation and strengthen the existing security emplacement to ensure the safety and security of corps members and camp officials. Comdt. Maku commended the NYSC officials for their efforts in ensuring a smooth orientation exercise and reiterated the NSCDC’s commitment to supporting the NYSC in providing a secure environment for national service.

The Commandant  interacted with the corps members and NYSC officials, urging them to remain vigilant and report any security concerns to the appropriate authorities. He assured them of prompt response to any distress call and advised them to report any suspicious characters to the NSCDC.

The NYSC State Coordinator, Mrs. Blessing Ekene Iruma, expressed her appreciation for the visit, describing it as a morale booster. She promised to work closely with the NSCDC to ensure a hitch-free orientation exercise.

Comdt. Maku conducted an on-the-spot assessment of the camp to identify potential vulnerabilities for security enhancement. The visit demonstrated the NSCDC’s proactive approach to protecting critical national assets and infrastructure.
