NSCDC COMMANDANT GENERAL PAYS COURTESY VISIT TO GOVERNOR OF SOKOTO STATE, SEEKS GREATER COLLABORATION IN TACKLING INSECURITY

As part of his operational tour of the North-West geopolitical zone, the Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, has paid a courtesy visit to Dr. Ahmed Aliyu, the Executive Governor of Sokoto State, during his visit to Sokoto Headquarters of the NSCDC.

During the visit, the Commandant General outlined the purpose of his tour, which is to assess the performance of NSCDC personnel in the region, strengthen operational capacity, and reinforce collaboration in addressing security threats. He also used the opportunity to solicit the state government’s continued support to the Corps, particularly in the areas of logistics, mobility, and operational resources.

Dr. Audi commended the Sokoto State Government for its proactive efforts in addressing emerging security challenges such as the Lakurawa crisis and persistent banditry affecting parts of the state. He acknowledged the crucial role of the state in supporting federal security initiatives and assured the Governor of the Corps’ readiness to deepen its presence in the state.

To that effect, he announced plans to recruit more indigenes of Sokoto State into the Corps and ensure they are posted to serve within the state, to enhance local intelligence and community engagement in the fight against insecurity.

In response, His Excellency, the Governor of Sokoto State, Dr. Ahmed Aliyu FCNA, expressed appreciation for the dedication and professionalism of the NSCDC, especially appreciating the leadership of the State Commandant, Commandant UI Alfadarai fdc, whom he described as instrumental in the sustained efforts to combat insecurity and criminality in the state.

The Governor pledged continued support to the Corps and commended the Commandant General for his strategic vision and commitment to national security, particularly in volatile regions like the North-West.

This visit marks another milestone in the ongoing collaboration between federal security agencies and state governments in the collective mission to safeguard lives and property across Nigeria.
