EDO GOVERNOR’S SENIOR SPECIAL ASSISTANT ON DRUG ABUSE AND ILLICIT DRUG TRAFFICKING PREVENTION, PAYS COURTESY VISIT TO EDO NSCDC COMMANDANT

The Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Edo state command, Commandant, Agun Gbenga has pledged to support the Edo State Government in the fight against drug proliferation and substance abuse amongst others in the State.

Commandant Agun disclosed this while receiving the Senior Special Assistant to Edo State Governor on drug abuse and illicit drug trafficking Mr. Oghenovo Andrew In his office at the Edo NSCDC State Command Headquarters in Benin city.

The SSA to the Executive Governor of Edo State, Stated that he deemed it necessary to visit the NSCDC Command, because of the laudable achievements of the Command in recent times.

He also sought to partner,collaborate and synergies with the NSCDC to help tackle the menace of drug abuse in the state.

“The issue of Insecurity and other related vices are caused by drug abuse, when people abuse drugs they can do anything with out feeling remorseful, that’s why you see kidnappers carry people like chicken into the forest,people joining secret cults, killing their fellow human being all in the name of cult clash, they are on drugs and we must stop them.

We have been working hand in hand with the NDLEA, I want to also assure you that the NSCDC will work and partner with your Office in order to eradicate proliferation of drugs or substance abuse and any other related offences connected to such in the State.” Agun said.
