The Nigerian Army says it is not yet recruiting for the direct short service commission (DSSC) or short service commission (SSC) as claimed in a viral advertisement.

In a statement on Saturday, Appolonia Anele, acting director of army public relations, said the purported advertisement is fake and did not originate from the army.

Anele said the army has not commenced any recruitment or commissioning exercise for DSSC or SSC for the year.

She asked the public to disregard the circulating advertisement.

Anele added that recruitment announcements would be made through the army’s official communication platforms when the time comes.

“The Nigerian Army warns all to be cautious and avoid falling prey to fraudsters who exploit such fake information to deceive and defraud unsuspecting individuals,” she said.

“Anyone with information about such fraudulent activities or individuals should promptly report to the appropriate authorities for necessary action.”
