The Plateau Head of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Commandant Ishaku Musa, has reiterated the determination of the operatives of the NSCDC to ensure maximum civil orderliness and obedience in Plateau State, despite the recent insecurity crisis witnessed in the state. He stressed that the Corps is ever more passionate about the execution of its statutory mandate as established by law.

Speaking during an exclusive interview with People’s Security Monitor in Jos last weekend, Commandant Ishaku Musa disclosed how the NSCDC has played a vital role in the restoration of peace and orderliness in Plateau State over the past two weeks.

‘’We are well fortified with a view to carrying out our mandatory assignment in Plateau State under the leadership of the able Commandant General, Dr Ahmed Audi, whose support to Plateau State Command has been immense. We are on top of our game, and I can assure you that we are ever proactive, even beyond the troubled zone. We hold conversations with the people, who reason with us on the need to embrace peace in Plateau State. We are not resting on our oars, as we remain 24-hour vigilant.’’ Assured Commandant Musa.

Recall the Plateau State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested a man allegedly found with a firearm within the premises of a church in Bokkos local government area of the state. The NSCDC operatives averted what could have turned into a black Easter Sunday in the area. The suspect, whose identity remains undisclosed, was apprehended on Sunday morning at about 8:30 a.m. during a routine patrol by NSCDC operatives around the church compound. Previously, some communities in Bokkos were attacked by gunmen, resulting in casualties.

Meanwhile, spokesperson of the Plateau State NSCDC Command, ASP Nanko Rimyok had assured that investigation was ongoing to ascertain the motive of the suspect.
