JAMB: LAGOS NSCDC COMMENDS HITCH FREE EXAMINATION

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Lagos State Command has commended the hitch free ongoing Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination ( UTME ) also popularly known as JAMB, in the state, which started, from today, Thursday, 24th April, 2025 .

Speaking at the end of a monitoring exercise, the Lagos state Commanndant, Mr Adedotun Keshinro in company of Deputy Commandant of Corps, Mr Kehinde Oke, Head of Operations and SC Oluwaseun Abolurin, Public Relations Officer of the Command said that there were no rancour in all the four centers visited, so far, across the state.

The personnel of the NSCDC, Lagos State Command have also been deployed to secure all the accredited, Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres in the state, in preparation for the exams.

The Lagos State Commandant said that the four centers visited include; West Africa Examination Council (WAEC), Agidingbi, Ikeja, JAMB Computer Based Center, Isheri Oke, Kosofe and WAEC center 1 and 2, Ogba.

He further said that from the reports received across the various accredited centers, the conduct of the examination has so far been peaceful and there were no cases of examination malpractices.

The State commandant said that its officials reported to the centers as early as 0600hrs and adhered to the stipulated rules and regulations.

At the Ikeja center, JAMB ad – hoc supervisor, Mrs Abiodun Odenike said that the first day of the exercise was hitch free.

Odenike said that the center commenced with the biometric verification at 0600hrs and was concluded at 0745hrs.

She said that the center recorded 17 absentees out of the 250 candidates with no feed back to the center.

At the Isheri Oke center, the Biometric Verification Officer, Mrs Racheal Onoja said that there would also be two sessions at the center.

Onoja said that the first session commenced by 0805hrs and there was no challenges whatsoever.

She said that the evening session will commence, by 1530hrs and hoped that it would be smooth like the first session and candidates have minimum of 60 minutes to write the exams.

At the WAEC, Ogba center, Resident Monitor Mrs Bashirat Abdulrohim said that the center recorded 13 absentees.

Abdulrohim also said that there was no communication on the part of the absentees to the center.

She commended the officials of the NSCDC in the state for seamless security measures noting that they have been on ground as early as 0600hrs.

A candidate Kudirat Ajose also confirmed to our monitoring team that the exercise was smooth and the biometric verification was fast.

The Lagos State Commandant also seized the opportunity, to charge the candidates to stay away from all forms of malpractices, vandalism of assets and infrastructure at their various CBT centers as well as put up very pleasant conduct during the exercise in preparation for their successful outcomes.
