EASTER: Kebbi NSCDC Vows to Protect Critical National Assets and Infrastructure

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kebbi State Command, has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the safety and protection of all critical national assets and infrastructure across the state during the Easter celebrations.

Following the Federal Government’s declaration of Friday, April 18 and Monday, April 21, 2025, as public holidays to mark Good Friday and Easter Monday, the State Commandant, KA Alkamawa, announced the deployment of 600 officers and men to strategic locations throughout Kebbi State.

While addressing personnel on Thursday, April 17, 2025, Alkamawa emphasized that the Command had reinvigorated its operational strategies to combat criminal activities, particularly vandalism, and maintain public order. He highlighted the importance of swift deployment during festive periods to ensure security across economic and social sectors.

The Commandant also disclosed that NSCDC will collaborate with sister security agencies to maximize effectiveness. Officers have been charged with safeguarding worship centres, parks, government properties, and other strategic points before, during, and after the celebrations.

A multi-pronged approach will be adopted, including robust intelligence gathering, special female squad interventions (SFS), quick intervention squads (QIS), and psychological crime prevention strategies.

In his Easter message, Commandant Alkamawa congratulated Christian faithfuls and encouraged them to reflect on the values of Jesus Christ—love, sacrifice, and humility—during this holy season.
