NSCDC ONDO IN A JOINT OPERATION UNCOVERS ILLEGAL CRUDE OIL RESERVOIR IN ILAJE DECLARES MANHUNT FOR THE VANDALS

NSCDC Ondo State Command, in a joint operation with the Nigeria Army and TANTITA Security Service, has successfully uncovered a reservoir of illegal crude oil at a forest in Obe-Akingboye in Ilaje local government area of Ondo state.

The discovery was made on 23rd March 2025 at about 1412 hours, with no arrest made as the suspects already fled the scene of crime.

The Ondo State Commandant, CC Oluyemi Joshua Ibiloye, has issued a stern warning to those involved in illegal dealings in petroleum products urging them to desist or face full weight of the law, as the operation will continue to enforce full compliance of zero act of vandalization in Ondo State.

He emphasised the agency’s commitment to protecting critical national assets, particularly in the solid minerals sector, which plays a vital role in Nigeria’s economy.
