COMMANDER TRADOC HOSTS RAMADAN, LENTEN BREAKING OF FAST WITH BARRACKS COMMUNITY

The Commander Training and Doctrine Command Nigerian Army (TRADOC NA), Major General Kevin Aligbe, has urged Christians and Muslims in the Barracks Community to promote values, interfaith harmony, and peaceful coexistence.
Maj Gen Aligbe made the call at the 2025 Ramadan Iftar and Lenten breaking of fast organised by Headquarters TRADOC NA, which held on Thursday, 20 March, 2025 in Lieutenant General TA Lagbaja Multipurpose Hall, TRADOC NA Officers’ Mess Minna Military Cantonment.

He also called for synergy among security agencies in Niger State, as well as unity, cooperation and mutual understanding among citizens in the interest of national security and development.

The Commander TRADOC, who was the Chief Host of the occasion, emphasised the importance of collective prayers for the nation and leaders at all levels, the armed forces and other security agencies for the smooth growth of the great and well blessed country.

He also acknowledged the efforts, sacrifices and endurance of troops deployed in various locations across the state, who could not be present for the event due to exigencies of duties

Maj Gen Aligbe added that it was crucial to support the families by hosting events such as this to encourage them, and emphasised the efforts of the families of the troops for managing the homefront in the absence of their husbands.

He thanked His Excellency, Farmer Governor Umaru Mohammed Bago for supporting the efforts of security critical stakeholders in the Niger State. He assured that the barracks community will reciprocate by ensuring greater security in Niger state and the Nation at large.

Earlier, in his welcome address, the Director Examination TRADOC, Brigadier General Danjuma Dantani, stated that fasting in Islam or Christianity is a spiritual obedience to the Almighty God, strengthens faith, builds discipline and fosters compassion for those in need.

Brig Gen Dantani therefore called on the Muslim and Christian faithful at the event to let the occasion serve as a reminder that their diversity was a source of strength, and unity.

He also encouraged the participants to feel at home and enjoy the all important event. Brig Gen Dantani appreciated Commander TRADOC NA for providing the needed resources and the opportunity for bringing of both faiths together.

Governor Bago was represented at the event by the Commissioner for homeland security, Brigadier General Bello Mohammed (retired). The event was also attended by Heads and representatives of the security agencies in Niger State, retired senior military officers, barracks community, associates and friends of TRADOC NA.

Highpoint of the occasion were vote of thanks, prayers by the clergymen and presentation of token to the clergymen and group photographs.
