The 23 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Yola, has announced that it will conduct its First Quarter Range Classification Exercise for the year 2025 on Monday, 17 March, and Tuesday, 18 March, at the Mayo-Inne shooting range, Malkohi, Yola South Local Government Area.

A statement issued on Thursday by the acting Assistant Director of Army Public Relations, Major Adebayo Adewumi, said the exercise is a military training programme designed to enhance the shooting proficiency of personnel.

The statement noted that the exercise will involve the firing of live ammunition at the designated range.

“In light of this, members of the public are advised not to panic upon hearing gunfire and explosions during the exercise,” the statement said.

It urged civilians to stay away from the Mayo-Inne range area throughout the duration of the training for their own safety.

Additionally, it stated that “all activities such as hunting and animal rearing within and around the shooting range have been temporarily suspended until the conclusion of the exercise.”
