NSCDC Boss Commissions Quarter Guard, Urges Synergy Among Security Agencies

The Commandant-General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, on Wednesday commissioned the newly renovated NSCDC FCT Command headquarters Quarter Guard.

Audi while addressing officers and personnel of the command, stressed the need for strengthened synergy among security agencies and discouraging inter-agency rivalry.

He urged officers to respect boundaries and leverage the experiences of other agencies to enhance their professional conduct.

“Don’t envy your brothers, rather, learn from those who have been there for years. Humble yourself and ensure you do not embarrass the corps.

“Accidental discharge is not acceptable according to the standard operating procedures of the corps,” he stated.

The CG further charged officers to be committed to their duties, particularly in the protection of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure (CNAI).

Speaking on the importance of the quarter guard, Audi noted that it symbolized regimental discipline, which is essential for the corps’ public image.

“Quarter guard is a highly regimented exercise used to commission dignitaries during visits. This is commendable, and I urge you to put it to maximum use to portray the service in a good manner,” he added.

He commended the NSCDC FCT Commandant, Olusola Odumosu, for his exemplary leadership and commitment to positioning the corps strategically within the territory.

“As a leader, you should be able to impact the lives of your subordinates. Dr. Odumosu knows where he is going, and the management of the corps is proud of you. We will continue to support you,” Audi assured.

He noted that the commissioning ceremony is part of the NSCDC’s ongoing efforts to enhance professionalism and discipline within its ranks and foster better cooperation with sister security agencies.
