Osun NSCDC appeals for help in locating family of missing teenager

Personnel of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Osun State Command has appealed to residents with information about the family of 15 year old female child identified as Quadija Abimbola to come forward and assist in reuniting her with her loved ones.

This is as the Osun NSCDC Command revealed that it had found the 15-year-old, wandering at Owode-Ede, Osun State.

The Command made this revelation in a statement by the Command Public Relations Officer, Adeleke Kehinde on Wednesday in Osogbo.

The statement further revealed that the child was found roaming the streets around 1:00am on Sunday, January 19, 2025.

Adeleke said Quadija was taken to a nearby NSCDC Division in Owode-Ede by a good Samaritan.

The Osun NSCDC spokesperson said Quadija had traveled with her mother and three siblings from Lagos to Osun State for New Year’s celebrations where her mother allegedly left her.

The statement said, “Quadija was discovered roaming the streets at 1:00 a.m. on January 19, 2025, and was taken to a nearby Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Owode-Ede division by a good Samaritan.

“According to Quadija, she traveled with her mother, Mrs Aishat Abimbola, and three siblings from Lagos to Osun State for New Year’s celebrations. After the festivities, her mother took her to Owode-Ede market to sell detergent, promising to pick her up after the day’s sales. However, her mother failed to return.

“Despite efforts to locate Quadija’s parents or relatives, all attempts have been unsuccessful.”
