GEN. SARASO VISITS 31 ARTILLERY BRIGADE, COMMENDS THE BRIGADE’S EFFORT IN MAINTAINING REGIONAL SECURITY AND STABILITY

Major General Mayirenso Lander David Saraso, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 1 Division Nigerian Army and Commander Sector 1 Joint Task Force North West Operation FANSAN YAMMA, paid an operational visit to Headquarters 31 Artillery Brigade and FOB Kafin Koro from January 17-18, 2025.

Upon arrival in Minna, Brigadier General HD Bobbo, Commander 31 Artillery Brigade, and other officers welcomed General Saraso and briefed him on the Brigade’s operational activities and security situation within its area of responsibility. The GOC then toured the barracks, visiting various facilities, including the Youths Empowerment Scheme Center, ICT training centre, and a 12-apparatus Nigerian Army standard obstacle course.

During his visit to FOB Kafin Koro, General Saraso interacted with troops, assessing their readiness and morale. He commended their efforts in maintaining regional security and stability, emphasizing their vital role in protecting the nation. The GOC encouraged the troops to remain vigilant and focused, urging them to continue working together to achieve their objectives.

General Saraso highlighted the successes of 1 Division Nigerian Army in improving security situations, particularly in Niger and Kaduna States, attributing these successes to robust clearance operations against insurgents. He also paid a courtesy call on the Hakimin Kaffn Koro, Paikoro Local Government Area of Niger State.

The visit demonstrated General Saraso’s commitment to ensuring troop effectiveness and readiness. Highlights of the visit included a cocktail dinner, tree planting, presentation of souvenirs, and group photographs.
