The Acting Commander of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN), Cross River State Command, Ntufam Dr Hayford S. Edet, joined government officials, security agencies and residents of the state in commemorating Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary celebration in Cross River State.
The event was attended by the Deputy Governor of Cross River State, Rt Hon Peter Odey, who represented the Governor, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, at the colourful ceremony held to celebrate the nation’s independence and progress.
The celebration brought together key stakeholders from various sectors to reaffirm their commitment to national unity, peace, security and sustainable development. Participants also reflected on Nigeria’s journey as an independent nation and the collective responsibility required to build a stronger and more prosperous country.
Speaking on the significance of the occasion, the VGN Cross River State Command reiterated its commitment to supporting security agencies, enhancing community safety and promoting peaceful coexistence across the state.
The Command further pledged to continue partnering with relevant stakeholders in safeguarding lives and property while contributing to the overall security and development of Cross River State and Nigeria.
As Nigeria marks its 66th Independence Anniversary, the Vigilante Group of Nigeria urged citizens to remain united, law abiding and committed to the ideals of peace, patriotism and national progress.
