The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has completed the construction of key security infrastructure aimed at strengthening policing and improving safety across rural communities in the nation’s capital.Director of Public Buildings, Richard Dauda Gwary, disclosed that several security facilities being developed across the six Area Councils of the FCT had either been completed or were at advanced stages of completion.According to him, the Department of Public Buildings has already handed over two fully completed police divisions located in Ushafa and Saburi.Gwary explained that each project comprises a modern, fully furnished police station and a fully furnished six man staff quarters designed to enhance operational efficiency and improve the welfare of police personnel serving in rural communities.He further revealed that the FCT Minister is expected to inspect some of the completed facilities in the coming days to assess the quality of construction and the standard of furnishings provided.He noted that the projects form part of the administration’s broader strategy to strengthen security architecture across the FCT, particularly in underserved and vulnerable communities.According to Gwary, the new police divisions are expected to improve intelligence gathering, reduce response times to security threats, and support ongoing efforts to combat kidnapping, banditry and other violent crimes in rural areas of the territory.The development is expected to enhance the operational capacity of security agencies and provide residents with greater confidence in the government’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property across the Federal Capital Territory.
