The Nigerian Navy has warned members of the public against the increasing circulation of fake recruitment notices on social media platforms and other unauthorised channels.The Navy said the fraudulent notices, which purportedly announce recruitment exercises into the Service, are not authorised and should be completely disregarded by prospective applicants and members of the public.The Service urged prospective applicants to exercise caution and obtain recruitment information only through authorised Nigerian Navy communication channels. It said all official information relating to recruitment, including eligibility requirements, application procedures, timelines and recruitment categories, would be communicated through its verified platforms.The Navy identified its official recruitment website as joinnigeriannavy.navy.mil.ng, while its official website is navy.mil.ng.It particularly warned members of the public against making payments to individuals, agents or unauthorised platforms in connection with recruitment. The Navy stressed that recruitment into the Service is free of charge and that it has not authorised any individual, agent or third party to recruit applicants or collect recruitment fees on its behalf.The Nigerian Navy said it would continue to monitor and take appropriate measures against the circulation of fraudulent recruitment information, while urging Nigerians to rely exclusively on its authorised communication channels for accurate and verified information.
