The newly deployed Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ekiti State Command, CC Sotiyo Igbalawole Emmanuel, is scheduled to attend the monthly Congress of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ekiti State Council, as Special Guest.The congress, according to the Chairman of the NUJ Ekiti State Council, Comrade Kayode Babatuyi, will be held at the NUJ Press Centre, Oke Oriomi, Old Governor’s Office, Ado Ekiti, by 4pm.The Commandant’s visit is expected to provide an opportunity for the NSCDC and the media to strengthen their existing relationship and promote greater cooperation in the interest of public safety and effective information dissemination.The engagement is also expected to enhance understanding between security agencies and journalists, particularly in the areas of security reporting, public enlightenment and responsible dissemination of information.The NUJ said details of the meeting and key issues discussed would be made available through the various media platforms of the union.The meeting is expected to further deepen collaboration between the NSCDC and the media in Ekiti State and promote a stronger partnership in addressing security challenges confronting the state.
