The Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kwara State Command, Commandant Abbas Ndah Mohammed, has called on senior officers of the Corps to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, discipline, integrity and accountability in the discharge of their duties.

Commandant Abbas made the call during a strategic management meeting held on September 21, 2026, with Heads of Departments, Heads of Units and other senior officers of the Command. The meeting reviewed critical operational activities and focused on strengthening leadership, enhancing supervision and improving service delivery across the state.

Addressing the officers, the Commandant stressed that every personnel must perform assigned responsibilities diligently and strictly in accordance with the laws, regulations and operational guidelines of the Corps. He urged officers to demonstrate sound judgment, maintain accurate records and adhere to due process in all official engagements.

He emphasised that effective leadership and accountability remain essential to the success of the Command, noting that officers occupying leadership positions must provide clear direction and ensure that assigned tasks are executed efficiently and professionally.

Commandant Abbas gave special attention to the activities of the Investigation Unit, directing investigators to handle cases with fairness, professionalism and thoroughness. He stressed that all investigations must be conducted in line with extant laws and approved procedures to guarantee justice and public confidence.

The Commandant also charged Heads of Departments and Units to strengthen supervision within their respective formations, ensuring that personnel remain focused, disciplined and committed to achieving the objectives of the Corps.

He observed that the conduct of individual officers directly impacts the image, credibility and public perception of the NSCDC. Consequently, he urged personnel to remain honest, responsible, respectful and professional in their interactions with members of the public and stakeholders.

Reaffirming his commitment to institutional growth, Commandant Abbas pledged continued efforts towards enhancing professionalism, staff capacity development, accountability and operational efficiency within the Command.

He further urged all departmental and unit heads to lead by example, stressing that excellence, discipline, transparency and respect for the rule of law must remain the guiding principles for all officers and men of the Kwara State Command.
