Family members, friends, colleagues, and personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) on Friday gathered at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Onikobo, Abeokuta, Ogun State, to bid a final farewell to Deputy Commandant of Corps (DCC) Michael Olusola Ogunyinka.

The funeral service drew mourners from different parts of the country who came to honour the late officer’s life, service, and contributions to the Corps. The atmosphere was marked by solemn reflections, prayers, and tributes celebrating his dedication to duty and commitment to public service.

Speakers at the ceremony described the late DCC Ogunyinka as a disciplined and professional officer whose career was distinguished by integrity, hard work, and loyalty. They noted that he remained committed to the ideals of the NSCDC throughout his years of service and earned the respect of colleagues and subordinates alike.

Family members paid glowing tributes to the deceased, remembering him as a devoted husband, loving father, and dependable pillar of support. They expressed gratitude for the impact he made in their lives and prayed for the peaceful repose of his soul.

Colleagues and senior officers of the Corps also reflected on his career, describing his death as a significant loss to the NSCDC family. They recalled his service in Ogun, Nasarawa, and Ondo States, where he was said to have contributed meaningfully to the growth and operational effectiveness of the commands under which he served.

The late officer was honoured with a ceremonial funeral parade, as officers and men of the Corps paid their final respects. The parade marked the conclusion of a distinguished career dedicated to national service and the protection of lives and critical national assets.

Many mourners were visibly emotional as the funeral rites progressed, reflecting the deep affection and respect the deceased commanded during his lifetime. Several attendees described him as a mentor and role model whose guidance positively influenced many careers within the Corps.

Until his death, DCC Ogunyinka was regarded as one of the committed officers of the NSCDC, known for his professionalism, discipline, and dedication to duty. His passing has left a void among family members, friends, and colleagues.
