NSCDC Intensifies Surveillance, Patrol Operations for Robust Security During Eid-el-Maulid Celebration in Delta

By Samuel Ike, Abuja

The Delta State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has intensified surveillance and patrol operations across the state to ensure the protection of lives, property, and Critical National Assets and Infrastructure (CNAI) during the Eid-el-Maulid celebration.

The State Commandant, Chinedu F. Igbo, gave the directive to officers and personnel of the Command, charging them to remain vigilant and proactive in safeguarding residents and critical facilities in Asaba, the state capital, and other parts of Delta State throughout the festive period.

According to the Commandant, all Tactical Commanders, Component Commanders, Area Commanders, and Divisional Officers have been directed to strengthen security measures around strategic installations, particularly within the oil and gas sector, which remains a vital component of the nation’s economic development and a key aspect of the Corps’ mandate in the protection of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure.

To further reinforce security across the state, Commandant Igbo ordered the strategic deployment of Special Forces personnel to vulnerable locations and critical infrastructure. He stressed the need for maximum vigilance and operational readiness to guarantee the safety of citizens and the protection of national assets during the celebration.

“As the lead agency responsible for the protection of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure, especially oil and gas pipelines and facilities, as well as schools across the country, we must remain committed to ensuring peace, safety, and security. Our success depends on effective collaboration and synergy with other security agencies to safeguard lives and property,” he stated.

The Commandant emphasized that officers and men of the Corps must maintain a high level of professionalism and dedication while carrying out their responsibilities, noting that the festive period often requires heightened security measures to prevent criminal activities and ensure public order.

He also urged residents of Delta State to remain security conscious, cooperate with security agencies, and promptly report any suspicious movement or activities within their communities to the appropriate authorities.

Commandant Igbo reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to sustaining effective security coverage before, during, and after the Eid-el-Maulid celebration, assuring residents that adequate measures had been put in place to guarantee a peaceful and incident-free holiday.

In his goodwill message, the NSCDC Delta State Commandant felicitated with Muslim faithful across Delta State, Nigeria, and the world at large on the occasion of Eid-el-Maulid. He wished them a peaceful and joyous celebration and prayed for enduring peace, unity, and prosperity in Nigeria.
