On August 7, 2024, troops stationed at Kambari responded to intelligence reports of bandits attacking a Fulani settlement in Katlong Village, Karim Lamido Local Government Area. The soldiers engaged the assailants, causing them to flee amidst a heavy exchange of fire. Additionally, 118 stolen cows were recovered and returned to their owners.

Earlier, on August 6, 2024, troops intercepted suspected bandits heading to Mashingi village market for supplies. Four individuals—Yusuf Hassan, Mohammed Mamman, Haruna Illa, and Hammadu Shaibu—were arrested. The troops also seized a motorcycle, four mobile phones, and N57,000 from the suspects.

In a separate operation on August 9, 2024, a tip-off led the troops to Magami in Jalingo Local Government Area, where they arrested Umar Zubair and Isah Abdulahi. The suspects were found with 436 machetes, intended for distribution to criminal elements. The operation also yielded four filling machines, a mobile phone, and various fabrication tools.
