The Yobe State Commissioner of Police, Usman Kanfani Jibrin, has received the newly posted Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Hassan Owuna, and members of his management team at the Police Command Headquarters in Damaturu.
During the courtesy visit on Wednesday, Owuna expressed appreciation for the warm reception and pledged to strengthen the existing partnership between the police and the NSCDC in Yobe State.
The NSCDC commandant stressed the need for sustained cooperation, intelligence sharing and operational coordination among security agencies to address emerging security threats and improve public safety across the state.
Jibrin congratulated Owuna on his posting and welcomed him to Yobe, noting that the relative peace currently enjoyed in the state could only be sustained through mutual trust, collaboration and coordinated efforts among security agencies.
The police commissioner reaffirmed the command’s commitment to deeper inter-agency cooperation through intelligence-led policing, joint operations, capacity building and other coordinated strategies aimed at preventing and combating crime, protecting critical national assets, and safeguarding lives and property.
Jibrin also urged residents to continue supporting security agencies by providing timely, credible and actionable information, stressing that maintaining security is a collective responsibility.
