Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has welcomed a newly deployed Nigerian Army battalion to Omu-Aran in Irepodun Local Government Area, in a move aimed at enhancing security operations and reinforcing peace across the state.

The governor disclosed the development on Tuesday through his official Facebook page following a meeting with senior military commanders and the formal reception of the troops.

According to AbdulRazaq, the deployment forms part of ongoing efforts by the state government and security agencies to bolster the security framework, improve rapid response capabilities, and safeguard lives and property in communities across Kwara State.

He expressed appreciation to the military high command for the deployment, noting that the presence of the battalion would further strengthen intelligence gathering, crime prevention, and coordinated security operations within the state and its surrounding areas.

The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting security agencies through strategic collaboration, logistics assistance, and policies that promote peace and stability. He added that a secure environment remains essential for economic growth, investment, and the overall well-being of residents.

The arrival of the battalion is expected to enhance the operational capacity of security forces in Kwara, particularly in areas requiring increased surveillance and swift intervention against criminal activities, while consolidating ongoing efforts to maintain law and order throughout the state.
