e Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ondo State Command, has appointed Deputy Commandant of Corps (DCC) Bakare Rafiu as the new Second-in-Command of the command following the retirement of DCC Oseni Adeyemo.

DCC Bakare, who previously served as Head of the Agro Rangers Unit in the state command, assumed the position after what the command described as a rigorous selection process aimed at ensuring continuity, efficiency, and effective leadership.

The State Commandant, Commandant Oluyemi Ibiloye, announced the appointment during the command’s muster parade, noting that Bakare’s emergence reflected the Corps’ commitment to strengthening its leadership structure and operational effectiveness.

Addressing officers and men of the command, Ibiloye charged personnel to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, discipline, and teamwork, especially as preparations intensify for the forthcoming Osun State governorship election.

He warned against any form of misconduct capable of tarnishing the image and credibility of the Corps, stressing that officers who fall short of established professional standards would face appropriate disciplinary measures.

The Commandant also reiterated the directive of the NSCDC Commandant General, Prof. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, urging personnel deployed for election duties to remain impartial, professional, and respectful of the rights of all citizens throughout the electoral process.

According to him, the credibility and success of the election will depend significantly on the discipline, neutrality, and conduct of security personnel assigned to maintain law and order before, during, and after the poll.

The muster parade concluded with prayers, a birthday celebration for officers and personnel born in August, and a group photograph session to mark the occasion.
