NSCDC Commandant-General’s Wife, Hajiya Maryam Audi, Passes Away

Hajiya Maryam Ahmed Audi, wife of the Commandant-General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ahmed Abubakar Audi, has passed away, throwing the Civil Defence family and many well-wishers across the country into mourning. News of her death emerged on monday, prompting an outpouring of condolences from colleagues, friends and associates of the NSCDC leadership.
The late Hajiya Maryam was widely described by family members and associates as a humble, compassionate and supportive woman who stood firmly behind her husband throughout his years of public service. Her passing has been received with deep sorrow by those who knew her personally and through her contributions to humanitarian and community causes.

Condolence messages have continued to pour in from senior government officials, security personnel and members of the public, many of whom expressed sympathy with the Commandant-General and his family during this difficult period. Several mourners offered prayers for the repose of her soul and for strength and comfort for the bereaved family.

Within the NSCDC, officers and men have also expressed sadness over the loss, describing the deceased as a mother figure whose encouragement and kindness touched many lives. The development has cast a sombre mood across the Corps as personnel reflect on the family’s loss.

Professor Audi, who currently heads the NSCDC following the renewal of his tenure by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu earlier this year, is regarded as one of the country’s foremost security administrators. The death of his wife comes at a time when he continues to oversee the operations and reforms of the Corps nationwide.
