The Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ondo State Command, Commandant Ibiloye, has expressed appreciation after being conferred with the 2026 Exceptional Leadership in Civil Defence Operations Award by People’s Security Monitor, widely regarded as one of the nation’s leading security-focused media platforms.
He described the recognition as both humbling and reflective, noting that such honours often prompt deeper consideration of the demanding responsibilities that come with leadership in the security sector.
Commandant Ibiloye stated that security leadership is not defined by visibility but by consistent behind-the-scenes efforts, including strategic planning, coordination, inter-agency collaboration, and the collective commitment of personnel dedicated to safeguarding lives and property.
He emphasised that the award is not a personal achievement but a shared one, dedicated to officers and personnel of the Ondo State NSCDC Command, sister security agencies, traditional and community leaders, and citizens who continue to support security operations through cooperation and trust.
He also acknowledged the leadership of the Commandant General of the NSCDC, Professor Ahmed Abubakar Audi, noting that his reforms and strategic guidance have continued to strengthen professionalism, discipline, and operational effectiveness within the Corps.
Commandant Ibiloye further stated that the award serves as a motivation to deepen efforts in protecting critical national assets, improving public safety, and strengthening public confidence in security institutions.
While appreciating People’s Security Monitor for the recognition, he reaffirmed his commitment to greater responsibility and sustained service delivery, adding that much work still lies ahead in ensuring safer communities and enhanced national security.
