The Minister of Defence, General Christopher Gwabin Musa, joined dignitaries and military leaders at the Nigerian Navy’s landmark 70th Anniversary Celebration held at the Eko Atlantic Waterfront in Lagos.
The week-long event, which runs from May 31 to June 4, features a grand International Fleet Review hosted by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and attended by naval representatives from several countries.
The celebration highlights the Nigerian Navy’s seven decades of service in safeguarding the nation’s maritime domain while strengthening international defence cooperation and strategic partnerships.
As part of the activities, General Musa toured the International Maritime Exhibition, where he inspected cutting-edge naval technologies and innovative maritime solutions aimed at enhancing operational effectiveness and modernising naval operations.
The anniversary programme serves as a platform to showcase Nigeria’s growing maritime capabilities, promote regional security collaboration, and reaffirm the nation’s commitment to maintaining safety and stability within its territorial waters and the Gulf of Guinea.
