Book Presentation: The Defender of the Nation Chronicles Tinubu’s Three-Year Fight Against Insecurity

The Defender of the Nation: President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Three Years’ Onslaught Against Insecurity…Tough Decisions…Sacrifices and Gains is a compelling new book authored by Isiaka Mustapha, Chief Operating Officer and Editor-in-Chief of People’s Security Monitor. The publication examines the security policies, strategic interventions and leadership decisions that have shaped Nigeria’s fight against insecurity under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

Bearing ISBN 978-978-68-1148-2, the book provides a detailed account of the challenges inherited by the administration and the measures adopted to confront terrorism, banditry, kidnapping, oil theft and other security threats across the country.

Structured into 21 chapters, the publication offers an in-depth analysis of government actions, military operations, intelligence reforms and inter-agency collaborations designed to restore peace and stability in different parts of Nigeria.

The author highlights the difficult decisions taken by the President and the sacrifices made by members of the armed forces, security agencies and ordinary citizens in the collective effort to secure the nation.

Beyond documenting security operations, the book examines the broader implications of security on national development, economic growth, investment and social cohesion, arguing that sustainable progress depends on a secure environment.

The publication also explores the gains recorded during the administration’s first three years, including the degradation of criminal networks, improved security coordination and renewed confidence in the nation’s security architecture.

According to the author, the book serves as both a historical record and an analytical contribution to contemporary discussions on national security, governance and leadership in Nigeria.

The public presentation of the book is scheduled to hold on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Nigeria National Merit Award House, Maitama, Abuja. The presentation constitutes a cardinal segment of the 2026 People’s Security Monitor Annual Security Summit, a gathering of policymakers, security experts, military leaders, academics and stakeholders committed to advancing national security discourse in Nigeria.

The book will be publicly presented by Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, of Gombe State. As one of the major highlights of the summit, the unveiling of the book is expected to stimulate informed discussions on Nigeria’s security trajectory, assess the achievements and challenges of the Tinubu administration’s security policies, and contribute to the search for sustainable solutions to the nation’s security concerns.
