Federal Fire Service Places Nationwide Operational Commands on High Alert Ahead of Eid-el-Kabir

The Controller-General of the Federal Fire Service, , has directed all operational commands and fire stations across the country to remain on high alert ahead of the forthcoming Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

The directive forms part of proactive measures aimed at safeguarding lives and property during the festive period, which is often characterised by increased human and commercial activities.

According to the Controller-General, all commands are to maintain maximum operational readiness through the strategic deployment of firefighting personnel, equipment, and emergency response teams to ensure swift intervention in the event of fire outbreaks or related emergencies.

He stressed the need for vigilance, professionalism, and prompt response by officers and personnel of the Service, noting that festive periods usually come with heightened fire risks arising from intensive cooking activities, electrical overload, fuel handling, and increased movement of people.

The Controller-General also called on Nigerians to adhere strictly to basic fire safety measures, avoid unsafe practices, and promptly report any fire incident or emergency to the nearest Federal Fire Service station.

He reassured the public of the Federal Fire Service’s unwavering commitment to public safety, emergency preparedness, and effective service delivery throughout the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations.

While wishing Muslim faithful a peaceful, safe, and joyous Eid-el-Kabir celebration, the Federal Fire Service urged members of the public to remain safety conscious at all times.
