The State Commandant, Commandant Brah Samson Umoru, disclosed that personnel have been strategically deployed across the 13 Local Government Areas of the state. The deployment covers Eid prayer grounds, major highways, markets, recreational centres, motor parks, and other critical locations to prevent security breaches during the festive period.
Commandant Brah stated that the deployment underscores the Command’s commitment to the protection of lives and property, as well as the safeguarding of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure across Nasarawa State.
He further revealed that specialised units of the Corps, including the Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU), Rapid Response Squad, Armed Squad, Intelligence and Investigation Department, Agro Rangers Squad, and Disaster Management Unit, have all been placed on high alert to ensure prompt response to emergencies and potential security threats.
According to the Commandant, all Area Commanders and Divisional Officers have been directed to intensify surveillance operations, conduct routine patrols, and maintain effective collaboration with other security agencies to guarantee adequate security coverage before, during, and after the celebrations.
While extending Eid-ul-Adha greetings to Muslim faithful, Commandant Brah urged residents of the state to remain law-abiding, vigilant, and cooperative with security agencies by providing credible information that could help maintain peace and public order.
He warned that the Corps would deal decisively with individuals or groups found engaging in any form of criminal activity, stressing that comprehensive security measures have already been put in place to ensure a peaceful celebration throughout the state.
The NSCDC Nasarawa State Command reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to professionalism, public safety, and the protection of lives and property at all times.
