Eid-el-Kabir: NSCDC Deploys 2,480 Personnel to Strengthen Security Across Kwara

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Kwara State Command, has deployed 2,480 operatives across the 16 local government areas of the state to ensure a peaceful and secure Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
The deployment, approved by the State Commandant, Commandant Abbas Ndah Mohammed, is part of efforts to safeguard critical national assets and infrastructure, maintain public order, and protect lives and property throughout the festive period.
Personnel participating in the operation were drawn from various specialised units of the Corps, including the Armed Squad, Operation Harmony, Counter-Terrorism Unit, Anti-Vandal Unit, and the Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosives (CBRNE) Unit.
The Command disclosed that the operation is intelligence-driven, with strategic attention focused on Eid prayer grounds, recreational centres, markets, and other sensitive locations across the state.
Area Commanders and Divisional Officers have also been directed to intensify patrols, strengthen surveillance operations, and ensure rapid response to security issues within their respective jurisdictions.
Speaking on the deployment, Commandant Abbas Ndah Mohammed reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to collaborating with other security agencies, local vigilante groups, and community stakeholders to guarantee adequate security coverage before, during, and after the celebrations.
He urged residents to remain security conscious and promptly report suspicious movements or activities to relevant authorities, warning that the Corps would deal decisively with anyone attempting to disrupt public peace and order.
The Commandant further congratulated Muslim faithful on the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir and encouraged residents of the state to celebrate peacefully, responsibly, and in accordance with the law.
