​Osun ALGON Donates 90 Operational Vehicles to Boost State Security​

In a major move to strengthen public safety and enhance security operations, the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Osun State Chapter, has donated operational vehicles to various security agencies across the state.
​The presentation ceremony, held in Osogbo, drew top government officials, security chiefs, and key stakeholders, all of whom praised ALGON for its timely intervention.
​Speaking at the event, the Osun State ALGON Chairman, Hon. Samuel Abiodun Idowu, commended the security agencies for their unwavering commitment to maintaining peace. He emphasized that protecting lives and property remains the government’s foremost responsibility.
​Hon. Idowu disclosed that ALGON has procured a total of 90 operational vehicles for security agencies across the state, noting that the distribution will be carried out in strategic phases.

​Security Chiefs React
​Speaking on behalf of the service commanders, the State Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Gotan, described the donation as a timely and impactful boost, especially given the country’s current security challenges. He assured that the fleet would significantly enhance the operational efficiency and response times of security agencies throughout Osun State.
​Commissioner Gotan also urged residents and local stakeholders to maintain their support for law enforcement, reiterating that safeguarding the community requires a collective effort.
​Handover of Vehicles
​A highlight of the ceremony was the official presentation of a brand-new, black JAC operational vehicle to the Nigerian Correctional Service.
​The vehicle was received on behalf of the Service by Assistant Controller of Corrections (ACC) SO Johnson, who represented the Controller of Corrections for the Osun State Command, alongside other service commanders and distinguished guests.
