Nigeria’s Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (rtd), is set to deliver the keynote address at the forthcoming public presentation of a new book examining President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration’s fight against insecurity across the country.
The book, titled “The Defender of the Nation: President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Three Year Onslaught Against Insecurity,” will be unveiled during the 2026 People’s Security Monitor Annual Security Conference scheduled to hold on Thursday, 4 June 2026, at the Auditorium of the Nigeria National Merit Award House, Maitama, Abuja. The event is expected to attract senior military officers, security experts, government officials, media practitioners, and civil society stakeholders from across the country.
According to the organisers, the conference and public presentation are aimed at reviewing Nigeria’s evolving security landscape and assessing the contributions of the Armed Forces, intelligence agencies, and other security institutions in combating terrorism, banditry, kidnapping, crude oil theft, and other threats to national security.
Speaking ahead of the event, the Chief Operating Officer and Editor-in-Chief of People’s Security Monitor, Isiaka Mustapha, described General Christopher Musa’s participation as a major boost to the conference, noting that the Defence Minister has continued to play a critical role in strengthening national security coordination and military operations across various theatres of conflict.
Mustapha explained that the book provides a comprehensive assessment of security reforms, operational achievements, and policy initiatives introduced under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He added that the publication also recognises the sacrifices of security personnel and highlights the importance of inter agency collaboration in addressing emerging security threats.
He further noted that the conference would provide a platform for strategic discussions on defence policy, intelligence sharing, security governance, and the role of the media in supporting national security objectives. According to him, participants are expected to deliberate on practical measures for strengthening national resilience and enhancing public confidence in the country’s security institutions.
General Christopher Musa is expected to use the occasion to address key issues relating to Nigeria’s security architecture, ongoing military operations, and the importance of stronger collaboration among security agencies, government institutions, and citizens in the collective effort to maintain peace, stability, and national unity.
