JNI CHAIRMAN VISITS NASARAWA NSCDC COMMANDANT, SEEKS STRONGER PARTNERSHIP FOR PEACE AND SECURITY

The Chairman of Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI), Alhaji Muhammad Makama Dunama, the Mai Sudan of Lafia, has paid a courtesy visit to the Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nasarawa State Command, Commandant Samson Brah Umoru, at the Command Headquarters in Lafia.

The visit was aimed at strengthening the existing relationship between the Corps and religious institutions towards promoting peace, unity, and security across Nasarawa State.

Speaking during the visit, Alhaji Muhammad Makama Dunama commended the NSCDC for its commitment and proactive efforts in protecting lives, property, and critical national assets and infrastructure in the state.

He noted that religious leaders have a vital role to play in promoting moral values, peaceful coexistence, and social harmony within communities. He also pledged the support and cooperation of JNI in community sensitisation, intelligence sharing, and peace building initiatives.

In his remarks, Commandant Samson Brah Umoru appreciated the JNI Chairman and his delegation for the visit, describing it as timely, especially in view of prevailing security challenges confronting the nation.

The Commandant stressed the importance of sustained collaboration between security agencies, religious leaders, and traditional institutions in intelligence gathering, conflict prevention, and crime reduction.

He assured the delegation of the Command’s readiness to continue working with relevant stakeholders to enhance public safety and maintain peace and stability across the state.

Commandant Brah further urged residents to remain law abiding and support security agencies with credible and timely information capable of preventing criminal activities.

The visit ended on a cordial note, with both parties reaffirming their commitment to strengthening cooperation in the collective interest of peace, security, and development in Nasarawa State.
