The Federal Fire Service Gombe State Command on Friday, 1 May 2026, held a special Jumma’at prayer session at Miyetti Jumma’at Mosque, Bolari, Gombe, as part of activities commemorating the 2026 International Firefighters’ Day, observed annually on 4 May.
The prayer session was led by the Chief Imam, Sheikh Mohammed Adam Albani of Gombe, who offered prayers for divine guidance, protection, wisdom, and strength for firefighters in the discharge of their responsibilities.
The event formed part of initiatives introduced under the leadership of the Controller General of Fire, Olumode Samuel Adeyemi, aimed at promoting professionalism, improved service delivery, and personnel welfare across the Service.
The State Controller, DCF S. M. Sulaiman, led officers and personnel of the Command during the congregational prayer, stressing the importance of faith, unity, discipline, and commitment in the service of humanity.
Prayers were also offered in honour of fallen firefighters who lost their lives in the line of duty, as well as for serving and retired personnel and officers who sustained injuries while serving the nation.
The Command reaffirmed its commitment to operational efficiency, professionalism, and the protection of lives and property, while appreciating the continued support, cooperation, and confidence of the public in the Service.
