The First Lady of Nigeria, Oluremi Tinubu, on Tuesday received the wife of the Inspector-General of Police, Mutiat Disu, at the State House in Abuja.
During the meeting, Senator Tinubu encouraged Mrs Disu to sustain efforts aimed at improving the welfare and well-being of police officers’ wives across the country. She stressed the importance of supporting families who play a critical role in the stability and morale of security personnel.
Mrs Disu, who also serves as the National President of the Police Officers’ Wives Association (POWA), reaffirmed her commitment to advancing initiatives that uplift members of the association. She noted that empowering police families remains a top priority under her leadership.
She further expressed readiness to align POWA’s programmes with the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), with the aim of expanding opportunities for skills development, financial inclusion, and social support for members nationwide.
The visit also provided an opportunity for both leaders to discuss collaborative strategies that would strengthen community engagement and enhance the overall welfare framework for police families in Nigeria.
