Troops of the COAS Intervention Battalion XI operating under Operation WHIRL STROKE have arrested three suspected terrorists in the Agasha area of Nasarawa State during ongoing pre–wet season clearance operations.
The arrests were made on March 26, 2026, following a targeted operation aimed at flushing out criminal elements ahead of the farming season. The suspects were identified as Sule Ibrahim and Salmanu Risko, both from Nasarawa State, as well as Abdulkareem Haruna.
Items recovered from the suspects include one AK-47 rifle, two magazines, and 27 rounds of ammunition. Other items seized during the operation were a mobile phone, a cutlass, sachets of alcohol, and assorted charms believed to be used for protection.
The Force Commander, Major General Moses Gara, commended the troops for their professionalism, vigilance, and commitment to duty. He noted that the operation was part of sustained efforts to enhance security and stability in the region.
He further assured residents that the military would continue to intensify clearance operations to ensure a safe environment for farming activities, particularly as the wet season approaches.
