NSCDC Akwa Ibom Deploys 650 Officers to Ensure Safe Eid Celebrations


The Akwa Ibom State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has deployed 650 personnel across the state to provide security during the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations and maintain safety in the days that follow. The move aims to safeguard citizens and ensure a peaceful observance of this important Islamic festival.
Officers from the State Command headquarters, Area Commands, and Divisional Offices were strategically positioned at mosques, Eid prayer grounds, markets, recreational centers, shopping malls, and other public spaces. The deployment is part of a coordinated effort with other security agencies to guarantee comprehensive coverage throughout the state.
Ahead of the operation, the Commandant directed the Head of Operations to coordinate activities across all 31 Divisional Offices, ensuring patrol teams monitor key hotspots within and around Uyo metropolis. The directive emphasizes strict compliance with operational guidelines to maintain order and safety.
Personnel were urged to uphold professionalism, remain vigilant, and provide assistance to citizens whenever required. Members of the public were also encouraged to stay calm and report any suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities.
The Command reaffirmed its commitment to protecting lives and property throughout the festive period. NSCDC Akwa Ibom extends warm wishes to all Muslims in the state for a joyous and blessed Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
The operation reflects the Command’s dedication to proactive security measures, community engagement, and the reinforcement of public confidence in safety during major events.
By prioritizing both visible patrols and strategic monitoring, the Command seeks to prevent disruptions and ensure that all celebrations proceed without incident.
