The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Katsina State Command, has deployed 2,050 personnel across the state to ensure a peaceful and secure Eid-el-Fitr Sallah celebration, while protecting critical national assets and infrastructure.
The State Commandant, Commandant Abbas Dan-ile Moriki, Acti, Anim, announced the deployment during a management briefing at the State Command Headquarters on Tuesday, 17th March 2026, where he presented the operational order. The deployment aligns with directives from the Commandant-General, Professor Ahmed Abubakar Audi, mni, OFR, to provide robust security for critical national assets nationwide.
Commandant Moriki prayed for peace and progress in Katsina State and across Nigeria. He extended warm Eid greetings to His Excellency Mallam Dikko Umaru Radda, PhD, CON, the Executive Governor of Katsina State, Their Royal Highnesses, the Emirs of Katsina and Daura, Alh. (Dr.) Abdulmumini Kabir Usman, CFR and Alh. (Dr.) Umar Faruq Umar, CON, as well as the people of Katsina State.
The operational plan includes strategic deployment at key locations such as the Emirs’ Palaces at Kofar Soro (Katsina) and Kangiwa (Daura), central mosques, major Eid prayer grounds, and areas hosting the Hawan Bariki ceremonies. Both overt and covert personnel have been stationed across all 34 Local Government Areas, as well as at relevant state, local, and federal government facilities.
Commandant Moriki directed Heads of Departments, Area Commanders, Divisional Officers, Unit Commanders, Heads of Outposts, and Special Forces to maintain close coordination and carry out thorough patrols to ensure watertight security across the state.
He urged all deployed personnel to uphold professionalism, commitment, and dedication, stressing that officers must work in synergy with other security agencies to guarantee a smooth and secure Sallah celebration.
The Commandant also called on residents of Katsina State to remain law-abiding, vigilant, and to report any suspicious movements of persons or items. He wished everyone a safe, peaceful, and joyous Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
