The Nasarawa State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) on Friday, March 6, 2026, held its routine muster parade at the Command Headquarters in Lafia, where officers and men of the Corps were addressed by the State Commandant, Commandant Brah Samson Umoru.
Addressing personnel during the parade, Commandant Umoru highlighted three cardinal principles expected of every officer of the Corps: punctuality, neatness, and proper authorization.
He stressed that these values are fundamental to discipline, professionalism, and effective service delivery within the Corps.
The Commandant urged officers to always report for duty promptly and maintain a high standard of personal and official appearance, noting that neatness reflects the discipline and image of the Corps.
Speaking further, he warned personnel against carrying out official duties without proper authorization. According to him, any officer who undertakes assignments or operations without obtaining approval from the appropriate authority does so at his or her own risk.
“Do not engage in any duty without the approval of the Commandant. If anything goes wrong during such unauthorized duty, you will have yourself to blame,” he cautioned.
Commandant Umoru therefore advised officers to strictly follow the established chain of command and obtain the necessary clearance before embarking on any assignment to avoid disciplinary consequences.
He reaffirmed the commitment of the Nasarawa State Command to maintaining discipline, professionalism, and operational efficiency in safeguarding lives and protecting critical national assets across the state.
The parade ended with a stern warning to erring officers within the Command to reconsider their actions and rededicate themselves to the ideals of the Corps, stressing that no individual is bigger than the organization.
