The Kwara State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Commandant Bala Bawa Bodinga, FCISM, FiCGPA, on Thursday joined other heads of security agencies at the flag-off ceremony of Joint Task Force (North Central) Operation Savannah Shield. The event was held at the Sobi Cantonment Parade Ground in Ilorin.
The ceremony was attended by the Chief of Defence Staff, Olufemi Oluyede, who led senior military officers and commanders to inaugurate the operation aimed at strengthening security across the North Central region.
Also present was the Executive Governor of Kwara State and Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq (CON), alongside top government officials and key security stakeholders.
Operation Savannah Shield is designed to enhance coordinated security operations, improve intelligence sharing, and reinforce the fight against criminal activities threatening peace and stability in the region.
The presence of senior military leadership, the Kwara State Government, and heads of security agencies underscores a renewed commitment to inter-agency collaboration and a collective resolve to decisively address emerging security challenges while sustaining peace and public safety across the North Central zone.
