FEDERAL FIRE SERVICE SUCCESSFULLY CONTAINS FIRE AT LEVENTIS PLAZA, ABUJA, FCT

The Federal Fire Service (FFS) has successfully contained a fire at Leventis Plaza, which affected a tailoring workshop on the first floor. Preliminary reports suggest the fire may have been caused by an electrical surge. Prompt action by the FFS prevented the blaze from spreading to the wider plaza and neighboring commercial properties, including Grand Square, The Palm Hotels, and Frazier’s Suites.
Upon receiving the emergency call, the FFS Control Room immediately deployed firefighters from the Special Unit at the National Headquarters. The team, led by SF Adoko, arrived at the scene within five minutes and swiftly brought the fire under control.
Firefighters conducted firefighting, salvage, and overhaul operations, followed by a thorough inspection of the affected area. Their timely response resulted in the protection of property valued at approximately ₦900,000,000 out of an estimated ₦1,000,000,000 prior to the incident.
The Federal Fire Service reaffirms its dedication to safeguarding lives and property nationwide. Citizens are urged to exercise caution with electrical installations to prevent similar incidents in the future.
