The Federal Fire Service (FFS), Kaduna State Command, on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, held a colourful decoration ceremony for newly promoted officers at the Command Headquarters, marking another milestone in the Service’s drive to reward professionalism, dedication, and excellence.
The ceremony, hosted by the State Controller, Deputy Controller of Fire (DCF) Ayuba Jonah Sule, attracted senior officers of the Service, representatives of sister security agencies, as well as families and friends of the promoted personnel. The event was officially declared open by the Zonal Controller, Zone ‘B’, Assistant Controller-General of Fire (ACGF) Garba Ahmed Karaye.
A total of seventy (70) officers were decorated following their recent promotion. The beneficiaries included one (1) Chief Superintendent of Fire, three (3) Superintendents of Fire, fifty (50) Deputy Superintendents of Fire, one (1) Assistant Superintendent of Fire I, and fifteen (15) Assistant Superintendents of Fire II.
The ceremony brought together stakeholders from various security and paramilitary agencies under the Ministry of Interior and beyond, including the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), and the Nigerian Army, Jaji, among others. Their presence underscored the spirit of inter-agency collaboration in safeguarding lives and property.
Speaking at the event, ACGF Garba Ahmed Karaye congratulated the promoted officers, describing the elevation as a reward for hard work, discipline, and commitment to duty. He reminded them that promotion is not only a privilege but also a call to higher responsibility, urging them to remain exemplary in conduct and service delivery.
In his remarks, DCF Ayuba Jonah Sule expressed appreciation to the Management of the Federal Fire Service for sustaining a transparent and merit-driven promotion process. He charged the newly promoted officers to justify the confidence reposed in them by upholding the core values of the Service, maintaining professionalism, and strengthening teamwork, especially in emergency response operations.
Both senior officers emphasized the need for sustained cooperation among security and emergency management agencies to enhance public safety and effective service delivery. They cautioned that the ethics, discipline, and standards of the Federal Fire Service must never be compromised, regardless of rank.
The decoration ceremony served not only as a celebration of career advancement but also as a reaffirmation of the Federal Fire Service’s commitment to capacity building, motivation, and improved emergency response across the country.
