Kwara NSCDC Decorates 200 Promoted Officers, Reinforces Drive for Professionalism and Service Excellence


The Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has decorated over 200 officers recently promoted across various ranks, reaffirming the Corps’ unwavering commitment to professionalism, discipline, and effective service delivery in the state.
The decoration ceremony took place on Tuesday, 13 January 2026, at the NSCDC State Command Headquarters in Ilorin. It was presided over by the State Commandant, Dr. Umar J. G. Mohammed, who commended the officers for their dedication, integrity, and outstanding performance in the discharge of their duties.
Addressing the officers, Dr. Umar described promotion as “both a recognition of merit and a call to higher responsibility.” He stressed that elevation in rank goes beyond ceremonial honour, noting that it demands greater discipline, renewed commitment, and improved operational efficiency. He urged the newly promoted officers to justify the confidence reposed in them by upholding the core values of the Corps.
The State Commandant expressed deep appreciation to the Honourable Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, for his visionary leadership and consistent support for the NSCDC. According to him, the Minister’s reforms have significantly improved personnel welfare, boosted morale, and strengthened the operational capacity of the Corps nationwide.
He also lauded the Commandant-General of the NSCDC, Prof. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, mni, OFR, for sustaining a transparent, merit-based promotion system, expanding training opportunities, and entrenching professionalism across all commands.
Dr. Umar encouraged officers who are yet to be promoted to remain focused and committed, assuring them that the Corps remains guided by fairness, merit, and due process in career progression.
Responding on behalf of the newly decorated officers, DCC Awoyale Olusoji expressed gratitude to the NSCDC management for the honour and trust bestowed on them. He pledged their continued loyalty and commitment to duty, assuring that they would uphold the highest standards of integrity and service to the nation.
The event witnessed the decoration of officers across multiple ranks and was attended by senior officers, family members, and invited guests, who joined in celebrating the professional advancement of the beneficiaries.
