NSCDC Nasarawa State Command Mourns Late Senator Godiya Akwashiki, Pays Condolence Visit to Family


The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nasarawa State Command, has paid a condolence visit to the family of the late Senator Godiya Akwashiki at his residence in Lafia, Nasarawa State. The visit was aimed at expressing the Corps’ sympathy and solidarity with the bereaved family over the passing of the elder statesman.
The condolence delegation was led by the State Commandant, Commandant Brah Samson Umoru, who represented the Commandant General of the NSCDC, Professor Ahmed Abubakar Audi, mni, OFR, as well as officers and men of the Corps across the country.
While speaking during the visit, Commandant Umoru described the late Senator Godiya Akwashiki as a distinguished statesman, grassroots politician, and a patriotic Nigerian who made significant contributions to the political development of Nasarawa State and Nigeria at large.
He noted that the death of the former senator is a great loss, not only to his immediate family but also to the people of Nasarawa State and the nation, given his enduring legacy of service and commitment to public good.
The State Commandant conveyed the heartfelt condolences of the Commandant General and the entire NSCDC family, praying that God grants the departed eternal rest and gives the family the strength and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
Responding on behalf of the family, a representative expressed gratitude to the NSCDC leadership for the show of love, concern, and solidarity, noting that the visit provided comfort and reassurance during their period of grief. The NSCDC Nasarawa State Command further assured the family of its continued prayers and support.
